Looks like it is not easy to get a 7-days-extension. It does not worth while.

It is impossible to get a seven day extension. There is no such thing. On the other hand, the order to leave Thailand within seven days is invariably given if you apply for an extension (handing over 1,900 baht) without meeting the criteria for any extension.

He entered with a non-o visa is why.

Since January the rules state the 60 day corvid 19 extension cannot be applied for if a person entered the country with a non immigrant visa or a 15 day visa on arrival.

Not just “entered with” but “ has any” Longstay Visa since last entry.
Had Visa Exempt entry 25 months ago then Covid Amnesty -ED Visa/ Extn - Two CE - Third CE Denied 12 March (Reason: ED Visa & CE Rule Change).

So Single Family Visit Extn. to 12May.

Will take Non O 12 mth extn of stay (over 50/ retirement) from 13 May.

As long as you can meet the requirements for a one-year extension, you absolutely can, and this would normally be the best solution. However, there are financial and document requirements for an extension based on marriage that some are unable or unwilling to satisfy.
