As above, are there any visa agents in Ho Chi Min City that can assist with smooth application for a visa from the Thai embassy there?

Known to lurk outside Consulates that are busy with border runners and the like. Vietnam hasn't been like Malaysia, Laos and Cambodia in that regard so I doubt there's a bunch of them stooging around with hole-in-the-wall photo copy shops doing 'document checks' and the like.

 

Anyway, I have three friends who applied for Non-O visas in HCMC before Covid and there's absolutely no need to have someone  else checking your paperwork, holding your hand or doing the submission. Drop off the application, pay the fee and collect the passport with visa the following afternoon.

So, if you're concerned that you might have an issue it's better not to go to Vietnam?

OP, what type of visa. 

Can't imagine why agent  would be needed at Saigon.

 

Small office and efficient. 

No flexibility. Need to meet requirements.

 

As far as assistance from agent just walk around Bui Vien district 1 and every travel agent can assist.

Seriously not required.

 

Apply am and pick up after lunch break next day.

Ripper Thai consulate. 

 

BTW...if you overlook any required photocopy etc there are travel joints across the road that provide service.

The sheer volume of numbers of foreigners seeking a visa at a Thai Consulate where there was a land border with Thailand is what caused the proliferation of 'agents' and ad hoc facilitators and helpers at these locations, not because the applicants were filing applications with 'issues' that needed fixing for them.

 

My friends didn't have any issues beyond NOT wanting to run the gauntlet of long queues in the sun and dicking about with daily visa quotas at a Thai land border Consulate. The low cost and accessibility was negated by the logistics of simply applying in person.

 

HCMC is a little over an hour away by plane with really nice, clean and cheap 3-star boutique hotels. Taxis to and from the airport are cheap and plentiful. Restaurant with good food are all over the place and their brewpub scene is brilliant. Fly in the afternoon or evening before, have a nice night out, drop your application off the following morning after breakfast and go do some sightseeing or shopping. Another good dinner, a mini pub crawl (you can walk everywhere) and another restful nights sleep. A leisurely late breakfast or brunch before checking out and then collecting your passport with the visa as you head to the airport.

 

If you suspect that your visa application may have 'issues', maybe it's best to resolve these issues first, regardless of where you want to get it?

Ahhh....your new eggs maybe not all that new after all.

 

Go ahead and state you precise "passport history" concerns and between @DrJack54 and @ubonjoe, you will have the best advice. If you already have annotations from Thai Consulates or worse Thai Immigration, then maybe you may have 'issues' that aren't unique to where you apply.
