It is a Vinfast that scraped the curb  in Laos and there is no indication it is registered in Thailand,  so it will not join our little list.

Let's be more accurate...it comes with free "shoe glue" as it works better on plastics than super glue.  😀

 

Unfortunately plastics/fibers are covering more & more new vehicles now days especially the front and rear ends...expect it's cheaper than metal and definitely lighter.

It's hardly ghastly. It's a great looking car and extremely well specced (23 speaker Dolby Atmos system anyone?). Design was led by Chris Bangle with a team of other ex MB and BMW designers. It's true they are having teething problems with initial build quality but I am 100% sure these will be quickly ironed out. The rest of the car is light years ahead of any FFF car.

Perhaps you think it's ghastly because it isn't covered in stickers or go faster stripes?

Apart from from being on its back and not on fire, do you notice anything unique EV about this accident?

Happy to report that the driver only sustained minor injuries.

I would suggest that not all batteries from electric vehicles involved in accidents are damaged. I wonder if these could be purchased, as they probably would be great for a solar project for a house?

Good observation. He probably scraped the concrete curb before landing in the ditch. 

What is also worth noticing is that the front wheels are still spinning, making the rescue scene very dangerous.

Doesn't matter the make or where it was, the guy standing close to the erupting EV was Bandersnatch.  "This can't be happening ..."

You’re right can’t be happening as my EV and house batteries are Lithium Iron Phosphate not Lithium Ternary.

As I have pointed out before, lithium iron phosphate batteries can and do experience thermal runaway.

Unfortunately Lee 65 is not interested in real world evidence. He keeps quoting a couple of Chinese studies, so best to ignore him.
 

The recent video of a BYD Seal being rolled at high speed into a concrete post did not result in a thermal runaway event or even any injuries and that’s good enough for me.

Are you sure, I was caught in the middle of a motorway accident, must be over 40 years back, I could see inside the fuel tank of the car in front, the area had his petrol on the road, it did not ignite, it evaporated........😂
