I think your stats are spurious.

 

I don't see how a house fire is relevant, and we all know the accident rate in Thailand is way higher than rest of world and most of your stats are accidents.

 

It follows that ICE fires are higher here too, so comparing EV fires with the rest of the world is meaningless. All it proves is that Thai drivers have poor driving skills.

But still way closer to the truth than the fake insurance and lawyer fire 🔥 data that spurious minds were sharing here earlier and that is what matters.

Mitsubishi:  Outlander PHEV starting price of ฿1.75m

 

Nissan: V2H and V2G is available on the Leaf - can buy in Thailand but you would be a fool to as it comes with the CHAdeMO charging standard and no active cooling for the traction battery. It's also stupid expensive for a 40kWh battery EV

When we built the house we wanted to reduce the amount of concrete we used so had a gravel drive, but even using weed block the grass comes through in the rainy season.  I am resigned to the fact I will have to concrete it.

Go with the paving stones, the grass grows through, they're easy to trim and they look nice.

The future belongs to the young, so I took the gang for a test drive 🚗 in a Tesla 3.

Admittedly, the technology is impressive. I can see how the voice controlled information system can become a source of entertainment and chaos in the cabin for the kids. The long charging stops might be a welcoming break for daddy 👨 the driver.

The single pedal drive control feels like you are driving in deep sand and will take some time to get use to.

The indicator control on the steering wheel is just dumb and impossible to use while turning.

All in all a nice car. The little one signed the test drive off with a bucket 🪣 of vomit 🤢, except we didn't have a bucket, but the Tesla guy played it cool.

I hated one pedal driving the first time I tried it and turned it off. If was only when someone explained to me how to use it properly that I gave it another go and ended up loving it. 

Since I was playing around with the Cybertruck at CTW, Tesla has been calling, practically begging me to take a test drive and Model 3 was what they had available at Paragon. 

Please share your single pedal wisdom since turning it off is not an option on Teslas.

It was easy to get the one foot motor memory, but it does make you slightly dizzy and you mentally don't expect this dragging break feeling.

Then I was told to just feather the throttle to control it so gave it another go and it really quickly grew on me. So even when you want to slow down you are still using the accelerator, but just feathering it with a light touch.  Definitely an acquired taste but once you are used to it it's really good.

 
I had one pedal driving in a HEV i owned, as it was the first car i owned with any regen i started off on the lowest level through to the highest before i went one pedal driving and loved it.

It’s all about moving your parameters for coasting and once you get the hang it is great.

But going straight into one pedal driving would definitely be strange.

There are 2 BYD dealers, an AION, a Changan, a Neta, an Omoda and a Wuling dealership in Chiang Rai.  There is plenty of choice for EV's.

 

You wouldn't a charging station in Chaing Rai or nearer, the nearest charging station you would need is 2-300km from your home.

But you mentioned "Powertrain is powerful"............but it isn't very powerful. I am guessing there must be a twin motor version to come.

A major fire broke out on Thursday evening in a long-term car park in the industrial area of Prior Velho, near Lisbon International Airport.

Initial reports suggest that a parked electric car may have caused the fire. No injuries have been reported so far. The fire, which was discovered at around 18:00 p.m. local time, required the deployment of around 140 firefighters and 48 vehicles, who tried to bring the fire under control until late in the evening.
