WHO praises Thailand for Covid-19 response - Anutin recognises role of public in success

Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister praised the Thai public after the country was held up as an example in the world for its Covid-19 response.

 

The praise came from a senior World Health Organisation figure as Bangkok hosted the Universal Health and Preparedness Review Pilot in Bangkok, reported Thai Rath.

Assistant WHO director Dr Samila Asma said that Thailand was a fine example for other countries especially in its readiness and preparedness. 

 

The country will be explaining to others how they achieved this through best practice when they attend the World Health Assembly 2022.

 

Anutin praised the cooperative role of the Thai public.

He noted that Thailand started the pandemic with a great health service and showed that it was able to get the necessary equipment, improve infrastructure to adapt to changing situations.

 

This has been done through a frank exchange of information.

 

Now the stress is on lowering the daily numbers of sick and dying so that the disease can be declared endemic as soon as possible.

Supposing Thailand has the disease under control, then it can't really reopen because cases will just surge again. Better just to do what Denmark, UK, etc, have done.  Omicron will have its way.

Yes, Thailand did a great job of controlling how many people they test and how many +cases released per day but with even this they still arent able to beat their Papa..Xi...

 

So WHO...when can we hear from Papa Xi about Zero covid success???

WHO is a creature of the establishment wherever it goes so it spends huge amounts of time licking the boots of self-agrandising despots. Anutin fits into their model very well. If WHO wanted to recognise those who really were effective in Thailand they would recognise the general population and most specifically the health workers who carried the real burden of care and vaccination. But of course we know that this would mean they had to mix with "little people" which of course does not suit their predilection to suck up to the power brokers.

Shameful rubbish propaganda. How can a authority that is 'supposedly' a health organisation hold up a country that only test 30% of  its population once in a pandemic ? They should be condemning Thailand for non testing at least !

Okay maybe so now however did not feel like that in April 2020 to me (like many other countries of course) with no early buy in to EU or USA vaccines and the porous borders not to mention the "clusters" linked to various pleasure & sporting venues.
