Hi, it was a lovely place.  I had a nice house near the beach with a private swimming pool etc.  I still have my residency visa (and I also have the same for Turkey).

But you know what missing from both Mauritius and Turkey?  The answer is 'sanook'. Everything was too civilised!  For the past 20 years or so, have been used to living in the 'wild west' (or should that be 'east'?) of Myanmar, Laos, Isaan etc.  I think Mauritius would be paradise for those retiring from Europe.  But for me, it was simply too boring and predictable ????  Nevertheless, I still have the option to return whenever I want.
