Body of Man Found with Throat Slit in Apartment, Najomtien
How do you know how far a person walks after his throat is cut? Watching this on TV doesn't show reality, as it shows people dying from stab wounds in a few seconds, when it takes minutes to bleed out and sometimes a lot longer. In any event, a person intent on suicide would usually cut his wrists and slowly bleed out, as many have done before. Cutting your own throat would surely involve a lot of pain and suffocating . -

Australian Aged Pension
I would much prefer to pay my tax liability on the age pension in Thailand, where in my case it's approximately 7%, rather than face KH's prediction of an ATO 32.5% tax rate as a non-resident for tax purposes. -

Motorcycle Cuts in Front of Car, Causing Crash into Tree; Pattaya
Picture from responders. In a miraculous escape, a car crash occurred after a motorcycle abruptly cut in front of a Honda Civic, causing the car driver to veer off course and slam into a palm tree and a large road sign. The incident took place at around 02:30 on September 22, near the Khao Talo traffic light junction in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi. The Pattaya Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre responded to the emergency after receiving reports of a white Honda Civic ,license plate Bangkok, that had lost control, overturned, and collided with the median, hitting both a road sign and a large palm tree. The vehicle was heavily damaged, but the driver, Mr. Chayapat Nutchongkham, 36, miraculously survived with only minor injuries. Rescue workers provided first aid before transporting him to the hospital for further evaluation. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the Honda Civic and a pickup truck driving at high speeds when a motorcycle suddenly crossed in front of the Civic, causing it to lose control and overturn onto the median. Fortunately, the car crashed into the signpost and tree, preventing it from crossing into the opposite lane, where other vehicles were waiting at the traffic light. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the accident. -- 2024-09-22 -

What’s the best area in Thailand for expats to settle for long-term living?
I never warmed up to the place. Been there more than a few times, same with Jomtien & north of Patts. Unless frequenting bars, pretty boring place, and surf sucks. Taking a boat to a beach, from a beach, which many suggest, never made sense me. Main reason, just too many people & the congestion. Crime always seem to be in the news, but I've lived in supposedly high crime areas before, and never an issue. Nicest thing there was CarreFour when it just opened ... Now having the worlds largest 7-11 ... Amazing Thailand I can think of a lot of worst places to live, like all of the NE & N during smog season
