People are disrespectful all over the world, a lot of it in tourist areas, where they think they can do whatever they want, and some where they wouldn't do the same thing in their own country, which is looking at the visited country with a low opinion. Thailand does this to itself with it's prostitution and easy women reputation, which brings the crowd that looks at women as objects already. No wonder that thinking also follows with disrespect in other areas. Like another mentioned, this usually doesn't happen elsewhere in Thailand, as most who live here know they need to respect and follow the laws if they want to stay here.
