Parents with two year old boy on motorcycle tank come off at bridge in Chonburi - GPS blamed

77kaoded reported on an accident at a bridge in Bang Bo, Chonburi when a family on a GPX Demon 200R came off their bike. 

 

The two parents were seriously injured but a two year old boy - who was perched on the tank - survived with minor injuries.

 

Anuchit said he was riding on another bike. They were all going between Suphanburi and Chonburi last night.

He said it was lucky they were not going fast. They were unfamiliar with the road so were following GPS that took them to a poorly lit area where the accident occurred in Soi Kiat Thanee.

 

The injured parents were taken to hospital.

Pesky GPS is totally responsible for this crash.

Very pleased to hear the young lad is alright , but how can they

blame the GPS , poorly lit , unknown area  you take it easy ,especially

with a kid on the petrol tank.

And likely using Google Maps which rarely seems to keep up!

Irresponsible parents like this, should have been castrated before they had a chance to make a child. Unfortunately they weren´t. The only suitable thing to do now is to take´em out of their misery and give they boy some caring plastic replacement.

.....because it was Western GPS. With Thai GPS not possible ????

lucky the kid was perched on the fuel tank,   who knows what could of happened had he been secured in properly.

I want to see one news story that says: "The driver was at fault..." - It's always the GPS, microsleep, vicious spirits, the weather, etc.

I see this kind of thing all the time. The parents take all kinds of risks with the families. The police don't care. There is no deterrent. Even the possibility of the kid dying does not seem to be of great concern.

Maybe that's why the PM once said, after a tourist's child was murdered here, that they could just make another one. Not long after he said, after another tourist was murdered, that only ugly women should wear a bikini.

*If somethings going to happen then its going to happen and there's nothing you can do about it* , seems to be the mentality .
