  • The biggest changes for Thailand locally, is because of deforesting. Thailand the last 11 years lost 28% of their forrest and during the last 50 years 40%.    Doesnt take a genius to figure out

IMO Thailand has not changed much in terms of warming. I suggest the sceptics should visit the Larsen Ice Shelf ( while it is still there ), Iceland ( glaciers disappearing ) and the Australian c

I look at the data. Clearly the data shows serious flaws in the models.

If that was true you'd explain how.

Heat trapped by greenhouse gases reached highest level yet in 2021, scientists say

May 25, 2022

Greenhouse gases emitted by human activities trapped much more heat in 2021 than they did three decades ago, according to scientists.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released an update to its Annual Greenhouse Gas Index on Monday. The index is used to provide a measurement of the amount of heating greenhouse gases are causing.

In 2021, the index reached a value of 1.49, which is 49% more than 1 value that is assigned to 1990 – the year of the Kyoto Protocol, one of the earliest binding climate change agreements signed by 192 countries. The value of 0 is assigned to the beginning of the industrial revolution in 1750.

Ironic given 2021 was colder than 2010

"Global surface temperatures continue to rise. In most surface temperature data sets, the years 2014, 2015 and again 2016 set new global heat records since the start of regular measurements."

"We discuss some pitfalls of statistical analysis of global temperatures which have led to incorrect claims of an unexpected or significant warming slowdown."

Then in the 1950s, a dramatic increase in the burning of fossil fuels — coal to make electricity and steel, oil for vehicles and manufacturing — vastly accelerated the rate of CO2 being pumped into the atmosphere.

“About 85% of all fossil fuel consumption since the start of the industrial revolution took place during my lifetime,” said Tans

A series of posts with vague or absent sourcing of claims have been removed, along with a post citing a debunked climate report.

Thera is nothing Thailand can do about climate.

There is alot to do with the local climate to prevent flooding by make sure narural forrests can be created again, but that a bit far fetched when we know the old forrests is now rubber tree, durian, palm oil and other agriculture fields. Big mountains areas have been deforrested as well for tourism, windmill parks and agriculture purposes.

Tree planting and flood mitigation. Good ideas.

Sparktrader having a nightmare in here. Like his fingers are having a stroke....

And then claim he has been 'studying' climate change for 20 years haha

Also saving more wetland, not only forrests. So many things we exploit and ruin in this world that have an important role for the local ecosystem.

Local stuff always better.

If you add every local stuff, then you have it as a global phenomenon right?

Not so hard to understand what we do locally also will have consequences globally? And every little thing that add up on the negative side, will make huge avelanges when we also have removed naturally catalysts that could help us.

No brainer if you ask me, when we constantly braking the natural circle on every level.

The Ping River was actually flowing ten days back, after that heavy rain storm plastered north Thailand. It had been a ditch with stagnant water for a year. Not enough rain, so reservoirs closed catching as much as they can to save for irrigation. Been like that for over two years now BTW.

Global warming? A fad otherwise known as weather, and its always been changeable.

This is quite interesting, but. I can not help to think about the increase of temperature when adding solar panels in a scale like this expecting it to actually contribute to lower the fossile usage. As well the need for resources and energy  producing.

Solar power and wind I doubt is the future.

Till they invent working nuclear fusion, the small, portable nuclear power plants are looking very promising.

The 1950s is probably about the time that world population started increasing dramatically. More people= more demand= more consumption= more need to make things= higher fossil fuel use.

CIA's last report mentions geoengineering as a way to mitigate climate change - a shield of particules in the high atmosphere. Seems radical but maybe we won't have a choice?

Ever seen Snowpiercer where to combat global warming the governments of the world have dumped a cooling agent called CW-7 into the atmosphere, only to have the plan backfire and deep-freeze the entire planet.

I mean, what could possibly go wrong? Invasise species in Australia anyone?

Ive been waiting for a bit of this global warming in England, they've been promising warming since the 1980s when tins of Lynx spray on deodorant was going make us melt, yet here I am in 2023 freezing my nuts off as it costs too much to put the heating on!

Knew they should never have fixed the hole in the Ozone layer (do some research on the ozone layer claim, what an absolute load of <deleted> that one was i.e. few British blokes go to Antartica, and come up with a wonderous story of impending disaster and it's believed)
