My W10 Pro is activated with a digital license linked to my Microsoft Account.

I want to install W10 on a brand new SSD ... I can make a new bootable USB, but how to activate?  tks

Your digital license is associated with your  Microsoft account. After installing, if it does not activate automatically,
Go to Settings > Update & security > Activation, click Troubleshoot, sign-in with your Microsoft Account. Then select your computer your the list of digital licenses associated with your account, check This is the device I’m using right now, and click Activate.

Not sure if this is what OP is asking but I just replaced the HD in a 5 year old Asus laptop with a Western Digital 490GB SSD.  I used the free version of MACRIUM-8 to clone the HD onto the SSD which included the existing Win-10.  Booted-up without issues.

I've done three SSD upgrades on my Win 10 laptops. Done the clone, installed the new SSD and booted with no issues each time. SSD makes things so much faster than HDD. NVMe is even better if available.
