webfact Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Sanook Thai Caption: Just pulled his hand back, not hit? Sanook reported from Udon Thani in north east Thailand where an 11 year old female student claimed she was hit by a teacher then later fell down unconscious. Her claims were refuted by the teacher - a 59 year old near retirement - who said Thais shouldn't rush to believe children over respected teachers. The media became aware of the case after a grandmother who is the guardian of the child said she had gone to the police after a friend brought her 11 year old granddaughter home from school on Friday. The girl told reporters that it was break time and she was trying to leave the school to buy a drink from a store when her path was blocked by the teacher. He allegedly said: "Meung ja pai nai?" - if true this is extremely inappropriate language for a teacher equivalent to saying "Where the f**k are you going?" She claimed that he hit her in the ear then back in class she had breathing difficulties and fainted. Another teacher wanted her to go to hospital but the original teacher responsible for the alleged attack said not to take her "she's just looking for sympathy". She was taken home instead and now says she doesn't want to go to school anymore. The teacher at the center of the controversy said he merely drew back his hand as if to strike her and warned her to get back to class. There was no attack and he said that CCTV proves it. He admitted that he likes to warn kids in an aggressive manner sometimes but that Thai society should not jump to conclusions about "old school" teachers close to retirement. An education authority promised a full investigation that was due to take place yesterday. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-06-21 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. In my view, anybody in authority who warns kids in his or her charge, in an aggressive or threatening manner is abusing his/her position. Child abuse takes many forms and if he threatened, or hit the youngster involved, then he should be punished by instant dismissal and lose his pension. You cannot hide behind "I am a respected old school teacher close to retirement" anymore. Respect is not a right, it has to be earned! 14 2 3

cardinalblue Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Water board the d**k teacher and then ask him how was that lesson?
jcmj Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Just because you’re an old teacher close to retirement it doesn’t give you the right to berate or abuse anyone and use the old, did it that way before excuse. 2
Popular Post spidermike007 Posted June 21, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 21, 2022 There are people in this world who have reasonable expectation, and there are those who don't. Even though traditionally, teachers hold a place of honor in Thai society, in reality respect ALWAYS has to be earned, and NEVER, ever should be freely given, based on seniority, politics, age, or status. So, this teacher is a BOZO for not understanding that, and what she is saying should be totally disregarded. If a kid claims that they were beaten down by a teacher, I am inclined to believe the kid. Having said that all accusations of violence, harassment, and sexual impropriety, should be backed up by some proof, witnesses, etc. 4

Popular Post trainman34014 Posted June 21, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 21, 2022 Why are these Teachers such Morons ? All he had to do was ask the Girl politely where she was going and tell her to please be a good Student and return to Class or wherever. No need for Violence , Foul Language or the Threat of Violence ! 4

Instead society should just understand that they have old school attitudes and when caught out turn into bare-faced liars.... This atrocious example matches that presented by a certain authority figure running the country... 3

Respect is not a right, it has to be earned! It doesn't work that way in Thailand. But where's the CCTV the teacher speaks of? Even then, that doesn't excuse his self-confessed bullying attitude (which he considers normal and justified). Nice thing to teach the kids, hum? 3
