JeffersLos Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 A family member bought a 10 year old Honda Click and I'd like to treat it for a service. Possibly it's first ever one 555 I guess the parts would be: oil oil filter air filter brake pads brake fluid coolant It could also do with new tires. How much would this likely run to? Also, is there anything else that could/should be done? Spark plug? The Odo isn't working (I think the fuel gauge too), they're not too worried about that. So if it is a cheap fix that' cool, no problem if not. Is it usually just a case of a cable? TIA
Henryford Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 A normal oil service is only a couple of hundred baht, brake pads, i'm gussing 500, tyres 2-3000. Tops 4,000, if a Thai takes it in. 1

Should be less than 1k total. 2 hours ago, JeffersLos said: It could also do with new tires. Just check tire prices on Shopee or Lazada, gives you an idea. Somewhere between 800 and 3k, depending on the brand. 1
Agusts Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Probably want to open the CVT and have a look inside, maybe clean a bit and see if it needs anything (depending on the mileage - that is unknow as odo not working ????)... Please also check the lights, specially brake light at the back - every other older bike I see on the road missing that, it could save a life ! 1 1

You may have to leave it there. Give it a really good clean before going. Just to show you care. 1

JeffersLos Posted June 23, 2022 Author Posted June 23, 2022 About the Odo, is it usually just a cable issue? Or something more such as electronics/dash unit?

I think the older Clicks don't have a real oil filter, it's just some mesh thingy like in a Honda Wave, they just clean this. Air filter about 100 Baht Brake pads, assuming front is disc brake 200 Baht, rear 80 Baht Brake fluid 80 Coolant 50 Spark plug 150 120+100+200+100+100+50+150 = 800 for the parts, add 200 for labor, round about 1k yes If you get a "NGK iridium" spark plug, or 100% synthetic oil, you can of course also pay more than that, but imho that would be wasted money.

Wow. I ride a proper motorcycle and can now see why most Thais ride scooters. ???? 1 1
