Buying Cinnamon sticks in Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Warorot market used to be a good place to buy whole spices particularly if you want to buy in bulk.

I will confess though that I haven't been for a while.

If you just one one ot two you get a cinnamon stick, star anise and a frew other spices in the little 5 baht packs the sell at most village or city mom and pop shops.... people buy for soup, stews etc. Actually a chinese 5 spice mix. Ask your mrs, she'll know what it is. Available in supermarkets etc as well. Very common here

I still have 15-20 cinnamon sticks that I brought back from our last trip to India just sitting in a jar, waiting to be needed by somebody.  I thought I'd use more than I did, and brought back too much. let me know when you'll be in town, and you're welcome to them all!
