A mum distracted by her daughter while coming home from school lost control of her vehicle, hit  oncoming vehicles and wound up in a klong.

77kaoded said it was a lesson in what not to do when travelling with young children who want attention.

The mother's SUV (a Fortuner) ended up in the klong in Chachoengsao, central eastern Thailand after colliding with an oncoming pick-up and a motorcycle that was following.

The motorcyclist whose vehicle also ended up in the klong was the only one injured in the accident and was helped to hospital by locals.

The mother was pictured cradling her child at the scene.

I wonder if the child was safely secured in a car seat?

My guess is that she wasn't and was allowed run amok in the back seat thus distracting the mother from driving.

Our neighbour bought a child seat after a breaking incident had ended with the kiddie slamming his head into the windscreen cracking the glass. Never could see it and asked her about it, she had it it the boot unused, seem to think it was a lucky charm, as long as it was in the car.

Did they have a video call?

This is why ALL thais - and foreigners - should be responsible for the medical bills of those they put in the hospital through accidents like these. You may well pay more attention and strap your kid in knowing it wold cosy you millions in an accident

Just another incompetent Thai driver, I wouldn't call that a narrow 'lane' its just a normal rural road with clear markings.

Back seat?

Reminds me of the mass of Benz n Range Rover driving MILFS picking up their kids after school in Mosman NSW years back ... truly dangerous fillies they were behind the wheels of those mega expensive 4x4 monsters ????
