A 5.9 in Myanmar between Tachilek and KengTung about midnight last night woke a few people up around here.

Some damage reported at MaeSai, no doubt more news today.

Yes I felt it in Mae Chan, and my wife was in Chiang Saen and that was a bit closer, and a bit worse.  Chiang Sean 93 km from the epicentre, Mae Chan 104km from epicentre, so we did not get the full brunt.

Interestingly my Android phone popped up an Android Earthquake alert, I didn;t know anything about that.

We felt the earth move in Maechan , quite scary as beyond our control. The later rumble at 4 ish we slept through.
