Centrifugal forces tearing western societies apart. Increasingly, decadence and hedonism reighn. Common sence has fallen by the wayside and serves no more as a compass in western societies.

The anonimity of "social media" has helped it a great deal. Every moron can recruit millions of followers on FB, spreading all kinds of "gospels", gladly picked up and duplicated by other morons.  It seems, that not "the meek" will inherit the world, but a bunch of morons.

The (western) world has not gone "woke", it simply has gone crazy.

- In the meantime, Mister Putin decides over the near future of European Economies. Just by turning the gas valve "on" or "off".

Former western leaders like Roosevelt and Churchill would turn over in their graves, if they could see what happened to "the West".

The radical left is crazy and the radical right is crazy. And unfortunately more and more people drift to the radical sides and fewer people are in the middle. People from the center, a little left and a little right talk to each other. The radicals don't talk to each other but they are all over the internet and shout very loud.

You mean she,sorry if i amnot pc ,but born a man / woman die a man / woman,you cant changenature no matter what you tjink in your mind.

Pesonaly i dont care if a man wants to look like a woman or visa versa,dont care if two people of the same sex want to live together and have sex. But you want your own toilets etc  build them yourselves,but that will never happen .

The problem with marriage is that a lot of things come attached to that status. I.e. a married partner can decide about his/her partner in a hospital. That is an important aspect and IMHO gays and lesbians should have those rights.

But with marriage come also (often? always?) the right to adopt children. Because 100 years ago nobody thought about married men. The laws are old and it would be an enormous amount of work to change the parts which make sense and to restrict the parts which are not good. As far as I know that is why civil partnerships exist.

Today we have the Gretas and Britney Griners of the world, or am I wrong.

They're just a collection of single issue voters on stuff like guns and abortion. The red states are the poorest, the dumbest, the most oxycontin-addicted. They subsist on transfers (handouts) from the blue states. Without the out of date electoral college, they would barely exist. Anyone identifying as right is a low information voter who feels hard done by, but can't explain why. He thinks Ladyboys are out to "destroy his way of life".

 

When they have a plan of national healthcare, infrastructure or anything at all useful, I'll give them another look in.

We now have enough affluence and are entertained enough to death to the point that we can actually afford to simply make up problems -that will never touch our lives one iota due to barely existing- just to enjoy the bracing pleasure of faux-outrage.

 

Our lives are now so coddled and force-fed that we have to invent things to feel angry about. Didn't we all fly here like god's in a throne in the sky (credit: Louis CK)? Gratitude is hard work, resentment is easy.

I don't think you have answered or even asked an equally important question: are children with two fathers or mothers in a poorer or better situation than those with only one parent with a same sex lover/partner?  I think that question is the better one to ask if you want to have an informed understanding of the same sex marriage issue.

I know this not only because it is obvious. I listen to experts. One of them in Jordan Peterson, a well known professor and clinical psychologist.

Obviously everything is not black and white. There are also enough children with bad mother and father. But all in all the first question should be: What is good for the (yet to be born) children? If people can't naturally have babies then they shouldn't have babies!

Actually, I have been wondering about BBC shows we get in the US.

In those shows interracial couples are very common, much more common that what I think we see in the US.

Does that reflect the reality in the UK?
