Thai baht: British pound hits highest rate for 4 months - pensioners can breathe a little easier

Funny, the only rate from a bank or exchange business that has any quotes that realistically resemble the exchange rate I have ever gotten is the Krungsri Bank and right now their rates are at least 1 bht below this advertised rate. For me, this means that I lose at least 10 000bht every time I make a transfer.

Yes good news as I got 44.25 early this morning

Wise rate was even better just before 10am. Let’s hope it’s still around there next week when I bring my 65,100 over to keep IMM happy.

Krungsri has one of the worst exchange rates of all Thai banks.

You can compare with this one from Kasikorn, but better would be to download the Super Rich app to your phone.

You will get the exact rate posted in those, but I'm sure you know that notes will pay a different rate than telex transfers

The rate I get from my home country bank to a Bangkok bank here is what Krungsri advertises.

When do you think that will be?  Next month?

In reality if Sterling could perk up and not be in the doldrums of 1.20 and below (yes recently it has), and be closer to 1.50/USD we would be there.

I am not from England but looks like a wise move to move from the Euro now. Euro is down to almost US levels.

The only good thing Gordon Brown did was to keep the UK out of the Euro.

Yes, he refused to change our currency at E1.6 to the GBP.

So we all effectively lost 25% of our assets now it's only E1.2 to the GBP.

Instead of losing 100% of our assets!
