New Electricity Charges as advised by Pattaya FM 103 28TH jULY

Featured Replies

AS  many of you would be aware and earlier this month there was a general advert about the new prices.
Not sure when this comes in to effect but believe August/September but quoting 18 per cent increase and the top tarifs up to 400 assuming domestic is going up to 4.7200 approx per unit and we can not assume but at present there are various levels of tariffs up to 400.
We can not assume anything but would think the various tariffs will be the same.
Not good news but many countries even worse but so many people on fixed income and also fixed frozen pensions and yes somehow have to cut down on A/c's which eat electricity.
Not seen the tariff for the adjustment at the bottom of the bill and think fuel surcharge based on the units used.

What's the big deal, SSE just increased the tariff by over 30% in my place back in the UK, to around 12 Baht/unit. Come the next price cap review in October I fully expect it to go up by at least another 30% and probably more. Thailand and most of SE Asia are doing OK in the current global inflationary environment, IMHO.

Tariffs graduations 0 - 149, 150 - 399, 400 and above. Basic rates will not change but the fuel surcharge (Ft) will rise from September.

Nice to have another electricity rates thread now in Pattaya forum

Of course nationwide same rates/changes.

The current (May to August) Ft is 0.2477 Baht/unit.

I can't find the exact number(?) for Ft from September only "expected" as 0.9 Baht.

For 400 units this would mean about 260 Baht increase.

Yes KhunBenq and yes all units over 400 as 0.9 increase  and yes even that can be quite a big rise and yes average over 700 units but could be much worse but those who are on fixed income as most Thais are and many ex-pats on frozen state pensions and the AC is turned on with the 2 Grandchildren.
