More pedantry.

I imagine that there were people who walked "freely and willingly" to the gallows. It doesn't mean that they wanted to end dangling from the end of a rope.

People were forced to walk to the gallows , they didn't go by choice .

Another authority forced the guy to walk to the gallows .

No one forced Boris to resign ,

It really isn't being pedantic, pointing out that a person resigned from his job, rather than being sacked

Which meant that Johnson had a choice: Resign or be removed by the PCP. The  option to remain as PM - for any length of time - was not available to him.

Again, you are making a prediction about the future and passing it off as fact and as I have already replied to the point you are making in my pervious post , there is absolutely no point in me making the same point again

There is pedantry and there is pedantry but this is something else. I've already admitted that, yes technically Johnson resigned, but the point which you are seemingly unwilling to accept, is that he didn't want to resign but, in the circumstances, he had no choice.

These are Johnson's words: "In the last few days I’ve tried to persuade my colleagues that it would be eccentric to change governments when we’re delivering so much...”

(If you want to be pedantic again then, no, he does not specifically state that he does not want to resign, but what other way can this statement be interpreted?)

Which begs the question, if he didn't want to resign why then did he? Surely - repeating myself yet again - the only logical explanation can be that he was given no choice i.e. resign or be sacked.

What shall we call it then? An involuntary or forced resignation? Will that suffice?

As I pointed out earlier, except in the case of the Netherland, this is an apples to oranges comparison. None of the nations that the author uses as examples are as developed economically or are very small with less diverse economies. And the Netherlands is paying an inflationary price for refusing to pay the Russians in roubles.

But are the Europeans having similar inflation problems, as some folk her seem to think it's only the UK that has..?

I can't speak for what others might think but there is a difference. France and Germany are the countries that would be most similar to the UK.

People living in poverty who are skipping meals can’t afford 25 Quid, if they could they’d buy food.

But thank you for taking the trouble to demonstrate how out of touch you are with the struggles of millions of Briton’s living in poverty.

They could sell their iphones , then they could both eat for a month  and also join the Conservative party ?

As a UK kid, I remember looking forward to Sunday, because we had a tin of peaches on Sunday.....????

My mum, as a UK kid, had bicycle tyre tread nailed on her boots for school.

Now, if you haven't the latest smartphone, it's the end of the world....????

Lizzy is at it again, she’s dispatched her supporters to ‘re-phrase’ her state

on not giving ‘handouts’ to people struggling with the cost of living crisis.

Apparently she didn’t mean exactly what she said in the verbatim reports of her statements.

It’s another Dizzy from Lizzy.

Yes heard that early this morning. Feel sorry for her really, running for the leadership and yet continues to tell people things she doesn't actually mean. Wasn't that Boris's modus operandi also ?

Heard, who told you, The Guardian......?    ????

There you go again, demonstrating how out of touch with the lives of Briton’s millions of poor.

Perhaps that soup kitchen job of yours is your British poverty cloud.

Get out a bit more, take notice of all those fast food outlet home deliveries that are everywhere and "cost". The millions of Brits that can't live a day without drugs of some sort that "cost"..

This is real poverty 2022, and not in the UK...

Your word "poverty" is a long way away from real poverty, ol' chap....

Pathetic response as usual from you. You seem to have a unhealthy fixation about the Guardian.  You should do like many of us do listen to Sky News or BBC News , you may gain something from it, but there again perhaps not ???? But like @Chomper HiggotI too will leave the debate

The video is from Sky News, ol' bean......????

So you never watched an ex PM hopeful, Penny, backup Liz on the way the media, and you are picking on something.

Yes, you will leave the debate, cornered.....????

I see the trolling has started again.

I’ll leave you all to put up with it, I’ll be back tomorrow with the latest nonsense from Lizzy.

Why not some more socialist updates on the PM race, its always good fun....

I am sure Clair or Dianne have some enlightening "words" on the subject to sway voters one way or the other.....

Mind you, the silence from their camp is deafening....????
