Opinion Casinos in Thailand Unlikely to Boost Tourism
Thailand already attracts millions with its culture, food, and festivals not casinos. Targeting only the ultra-rich for gambling seems risky and unnecessary. There are better ways to grow tourism, like concerts or sports events, without the downsides of promoting gambling. -

Reform UK Declares All-Out Battle Against Rural Net Zero Projects
You can of course think what you like, however the law is clear. Central Government, not local authorities, give consent on matters of national infrastructure “The primary legislation which applies to NSIPs is called the Planning Act 2008. When these types of development meet the threshold described in the Planning Act they need a Development Consent Order (DCO) before they can be built. As this type of development is nationally important, consent for a project needs to be given by the government rather than the local planning authority.” Interestingly, when the UK was a member of the EU, individual ’affected’ persons in the UK had the right under EU and UK Environmental protection laws to make direct appeal to the EU Environmental Commissioner, over the head of the UK Government on matters of Government policies/projects that impacted the environment. Jost one more of those EU membership rights Brexiteers pished away. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nationally-significant-infrastructure-projects-and-the-people-and-organisations-involved-in-the-process -
