Can anyone recommend a tailor in Chiang Mai that will do minor stitching on a pair of trousers for a reasonable price?

Walk down any Chiang Mai street where there are shops and look for older ladies with sewing machines show them what you want repaired and agree a price won't be more than 40 THB usually.

This looks good with a proper shop, how was the workmanship?

The lady sewed a hole in the pocket and did a good job, it wasn't a major repair though.

On another topic, I had my backpack fixed by a man with a van by the roadside near YMCA (santitham), his workmanship was terrible and attitude was bad.

I am also hoping the lady can sew my backpack as well.

One of the reviews mentioned she also fixed some luggage so she can likely fix your backpack.

Nevermind is a good idea.  A lot of your posts are like that.
