There is a shower to the left, so it will get very wet with hot water.

 

One option is to paint it white.

 

Is it possible to paint such a blue PVC pipe white in water proof paint?

 

 

Another more complex option would be to cover it.

 

I presume cement and tiling is the way to go here? Issues with that are that the pipe is then inaccessible, and that the cement might start to break away. Any other ideas for covering it?

Most methods to paint PVC pipe involves the use of epoxy-based paints. These paints can cause serious harm to an individual if not used properly.

 

I used an undercoat and Acrylic spray cans, seems to be just fine. ????

Regular vinyl emulsion wall paint works well enough, sanding the gloss finish with 180 or 220 grit will help adhesion. MIL just painted the pipes along with the walls they were OK for the 8 years until the house got sold.

 

don’t forget that you will get mould and crud building up under the pipe unless there is clearance to clean under it.

With downpipes, etc we just painted with the same paint as on the outside walls. We even tarted up an old 1000 litre blue water tank with the same. Easy to touch up if necessary years later.
