Popular Post webfact
Picture: Siam Rath A top scientist in Thailand has predicted that the country is now entering the start of a period of "extreme weather". Dr Thon Thamrongnawasawat, a marine scientist at Kaset university in the Thai capital, went on his personal Facebook page to make the warning after Bangkokian's woke to hellish looking clouds yesterday morning. People on social media posted video and pictures as scary and fast moving clouds rolled over Bangkok turning morning into night, reported Siam Rath. Though for many the storm's bark was worse than its bite, it dumped little rain in some areas and soon moved on, though the day remained unclear with intermittent showers until further evening light shows notes ASEAN NOW. The met office has predicted storms and lightning all week. Dr Thon said: "It turned Bangkok from morning into night. It was "maek loke rorn" (hot earth clouds)", he said. This resulted from a warming ocean, evaporation and hot weather meaning there was more vapor in the atmosphere, he noted. ASEAN NOW picture He said that the clouds contained a huge volume of water to dump but there was not much rain - this time. But wait for next time this happens or subsequent times. He called it the start of "extreme weather" - a term he used in English. This is due to climate change, he continued, with greehouse gases in the atmosphere that would cause "devastating consequences especially in countries that are economically fragile". He cited Pakistan as an example of this with great swathes of the country reportedly under water at this time after some of the most serious flooding there in memory. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-08-30 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post Photoguy21
What about the weather which was sever back in 2010 was it when many of the overpasses were covered? I remember flying into Bangkok when the water was dispersing and still I could see the back end of cars sticking out of the water on flyovers. Why do these people always want to make it sound so dramatic as if there has never been very heavy rain in the rainy season before? Attention seeking are they or just jumping on the official narrative? 9 1

Popular Post ozimoron
Here is a prediction for Darwin, Australia which is on a similar latitude as Bangkok. Bangkok can expect to same the same sort of changes. Predictions for Darwin, in northern Australia, suggest an increase in days with temperatures above 35℃ from 11 days a year in 2015 to an average of 43 days under the mid-range emission scenario (IPCC’s RCP4.5 scenario) by 2030 and an average of 111 (range 54-211) days by 2090. Under the higher emission scenario (IPCC’s RCP8.5), an average of 265 days above 35℃ could be reached by 2090. https://theconversation.com/climate-explained-will-the-tropics-eventually-become-uninhabitable-145174 Seriously ugly: here’s how Australia will look if the world heats by 3°C this century At 3℃ of global warming, Australia’s present-day ecological systems would be unrecognisable. https://theconversation.com/seriously-ugly-heres-how-australia-will-look-if-the-world-heats-by-3-c-this-century-157875 5 1 2

There is global consensus aside from a few whack jobs who don't trust science. If you want to find credible evidence that humans aren't responsible for global warming go ahead but so far nobody has yet managed to find anything other than pseudoscience paid for by fossil fuel companies. Claiming that climate deniers are wrong is a fair call. 6 1 3 3

Popular Post allanos
Earth's climate has been changing since it was formed, around 4bn years ago. How much is anthropomorphically-induced is the subject of vigorous debate. Will "net zero" arrest or reverse "climate change"? Seems highly unlikely. Allow a lengthy period to go past the attainment of "net zero" and what will the climate change (once called global warming until it was shown that the reverse is true), theorists and activists attribute it to? Or will they have found a new bandwagon to jump on? (Generally speaking, once one sees the bandwagon is rolling, it is already too late)! 7 1 2

Yes it has been changing, usually in a known direction, either warming or cooling. Currently the Earth is in a natural cooling phase. The difference is that now it's happening millions of times faster than at any time in the past. Other metrics like CO2 levels are at highs not seen for nearly a million years. No, there is not "vigorous debate". There is the same fake science lobbying from the fossil fuel companies as there was from tobacco companies when their cash cow was threatened. Some politicians amplify the BS because the fossil fuel companies pay them too. 3 3 2

Another climate clown. Most likely just back from a WEF meeting on sustainable butt munching. Humans have adapted quite nicely to changes in the environment. Deaths due to severe weather have dropped dramatically in the last 150 years. But please, be afraid, just make sure it's not fear due to weather but to the clowns driving climate policy throughout the world. They will devastate society far more harshly than any floods. Remember, we've never had floods before, so be afraid. 5 2 2
