    Yes, hard to believe she could have been overlooked there.  If that was where she was found, she might have moved to that area after everyone else had left and, while attempting to get out, possibly bruised herself trying to get the door open.

ALL kid need to learn how to sound the horn in case this happens. Even young kids should be able to do this and they should all be taught how to do it.

    Whether malicious or a terrible accident, the schools care of a student and subsequent handling of the matter was appaling.

    ^ This.   It's unbelievable that no effort is made to verify the wherebouts of a child missing from the classroom.  Yet it's a common factor in every one of these tragedies.
