They make it impossible to contact them using app chat, it's in Thai, using translate doesn't work as the app goes back to the start, typical Shopee, rubbish compared to Lazada

  • Paying up front is asking for even more problems...stick with COD.

  • I have done it. I even registered as seller on shopee.   You have to contact English speaking department through messaging app as  they have special people who deal with foreign clients.

I just downloaded shopee pay....And set the app to English....I see nothing whatsoever about using a passport to register for shopee pay...

My Shopee Pay stopped working, they wanted me to call them but i couldn't be bothered, Shopee isn't very user friendly so maybe a passport isn't good enough anymore

Even when your shopee app is set for English the part about shopee pay is all in Thai....They only want Thais using shopee pay for some reason......Thats ok Lazada has gotten to be way better these days with lots of discount vouchers and coin discounts....

Yep, Lazada app night and day better than Shopee. I noticed Lazada has a new payment option QR Promptpay scan, they keep improving. Shopee doesn't even want feedback survey emails completed

Back in 2023 I signed up for ShopeePay because there were some promotions available if you paid by ShopeePay. I Definitely had to use my passport to get the account approved and later had to do a face scan. Anyway, got a notification last month saying they are closing ShopeePay accounts for foreigners. Probably too much hassle for Shopee to complying with Bank of Thailand and Revenue Department reporting requirements for foreigners.

Yea well it does not seem like its to much trouble for Lazada to have a wallet for farangs.....I have one.....

What I think the real deal is,   is with out shopee pay you cant get a number of discounts here and there on shopee......I just dont think they want farang to get the special deals......

Still plenty of discounts with out shopee pay...
