Hi all,

Bit out of touch with Thai side stuff - previously had 12 month Retirment Visa - 'O' Non Imm.

Approx last 10 years - stayed for many months each year then visited folks in Europe and UK.

Covid rather put a 'lid' on that - stuck UK side of things - now hoping to start up once more.

Both Spouse and I still have our Thai Bank Accounts each with sufficient funds.

Thai Driving Lincense still valid.

From fact checking route looks like previous.

30 Day Visa exempt entry >>  90 day extension >> 12 month Visa purpose retirement - is this still valid route?

I just read that if 30 Day Visa exempt entry Flight ticket must show exit at 30 days.

But as we would would be arriving intending to stay for many months is the above Ticket thing for real?

Never met that before all those years - only once a query at UK departure airport pre-flight.

If no go on 30 >> 90 >> 12 months for any reason would 'buzz off' down to Malaysia and then back for the Return Flight at later ticket date.

Our Passports still have all the previous 12 Month Visa 'O' Non Imm stamps but now (sadly) with a 2 year gap.

Comments gratefully sought.

Best Rgds.

Your plan is fine (it's a 90 day visa then a 12 month extension) and only the onward ticket could be an issue, solved easily by buying a cheap throwaway ticket out of Thailand within 30 days of your departure.  It's likely less than 50/50 you'll even be asked but you can't be certain (it would be at check-in in the UK, not at immigration).  Alternatively you could get the 90 day non-O visa before leaving, you have the finances in place already but possibly might run into a requirement for health insurance for that which you may or may not have in place.
