Thai Rath reported on a joyous Facebook post on a page called "Nat Dao Klai Thee Pheung" that reported on the extraordinary survival of an eighty one year old grandmother who was swept away in floodwaters.

 

Ree fell into water in one sub- district and ended up in an entirely different one clutching onto fish catching baskets before she was rescued and helped to get home. 

 

Thai Rath said the lady displayed skills an Olympian would be proud of as netizens echoed their sentiments. 

 

Ree's adventure began at 3 am when she tumbled into the floods in Ban Pom sub-district of Bang Pa-in, Ayutthaya in central Thailand.

 

It ended in Bang Padaeng sub-district with local officials ensuring she got back home safely from there.

 

Netizens gave their support to the old lady and praised her for her survival instincts in the flood and cold of the night.

Amazing lady, no wonder she has survived till now. She must be a real fighter.

80+ and hasn't learnt to stay away from flood water.
