Popular Post webfact Posted September 20, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted September 20, 2022 By Erich ParpartThe Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders ruled that former leader of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) Suthep Thaugsuban was not guilty of corruption allegations worth billions of Baht from the failed construction contract that he had awarded to a single contractor during his term as Deputy Prime Minister in 2009. The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders’ decision is final and cannot be appealed. Suthep along with five other individuals and a construction firm, PCC Development and Construction, were indicted by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) in December 2021. Earlier Suthep said that he was innocent and that he was being made a scapegoat. “I was used as a scapegoat for the unfinished police stations,” he told reporters.
