THAI police arrested one of six foreigners wanted in the extortion of cryptocurrencies worth US$50,000 (approximately 1.878 million baht) from a Russian couple at a coffee shop on Koh Samui earlier this month, Naewna newspaper said yesterday evening (Sept. 28).

Pol. Lt. Gen. Amphol Buarabporn, commander of Provincial Police Region 8, had ordered quick tracking down of the six foreign suspects in this case with Koh Samui provincial court having issued warrants for their arrest.

Wanted are Mr. Salman Almaty, 56, a Kazakh, who fled the country on Sept. 17; Mr. Tschingis Akhmadov, 39, a German, who escaped on Sept. 20; Mr. Andrey Nizhegorodtsev, 37, a Kazakh arrested in Chonburi today; Mr. Vladimir Orekhov, 42, a Russian; as well as two others whose name and nationality are not yet known but this is being investigated.

That's interesting.

I don't want to repeat those stories here again, but there are a couple of other criminal fugitives who are still out there after years. Did anybody forget to order that they should be tracked down quickly?

It seems that there's more glory and it's easier and more lucrative in 'apprehending' foreign criminals than local one...

i heard after btc crashed later that day he tried to give it back.

... yo, Tschingis, alter Freund, from the Akhmadovs, that big old arch-Bavarian family ... 555, German, my crusty axe ...

Anyway, so most of 'em "escaped" huh, that's the gist of it ...?

Goalposts move when you buy your freedom.

I especially like the fact the commander ordered a "quick tracking down of the suspects " as opposed to ? The usual where culprits have time to down few red bulls ( gives you wings)
