Officials credit 'proactiveness' for low casualties from Storm Noru

57 people were injured amid the onslaught of Storm Noru and no one was killed, a result thanks to proactive measures by the authorities and residents' cooperation, officials said.

Central Vietnam's Quang Ngai Province, where the storm's eye traveled through, saw 41 people injured, while Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue saw eight people injured each, the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control said Wednesday.

The storm completely demolished 94 houses, with 65 in Quang Nam, 21 in Quang Ngai, 6 in Thua Thien-Hue and 2 in Quang Tri, it added.
