The Philippines police have rescued 14 Vietnamese and 10 Chinese women trafficking victims from two Chinese suspects who allegedly held them captive in Paranaque City.

The rescue operation was based on an intelligence report the police received about a group of women being confined in three separate units of a condominium complex in the village of Tambo, the Philippine National Police officer in-charge, Lieutenant General Jose Chiquito Malayo, said in a statement.

A joint force of the Parañaque City Police, Barangay Women Desk Office and the Department of Social Welfare and Development acted on the information, leading to the arrest of the two suspects, who were found guarding the victims at the time of the rescue operation, the Inquirer reported.
