I note on the Wise internet page that they have placed a notice in red, stating that for the time being they can only accept transfers of 26,000 GBP or above.

A casualty of the recent market problems earlier this week?

It's 'cos it's the weekend, and they don't want to accept a transfer where the rate they promise is wildly different when they send the money on Monday.

Doubt this'll be the case during weekdays.

It says 28000 pounds - not Baht.

Just tried to send £1000, and it wouldn't accept it, tried £600 and it accepted it, so from what I can see is they've worded it incorrectly.

Mind you I'm still a bit drunk from last night!

The warning I read is up to 28000 pounds -not from.

Correct and obvious after reading equivalent text in German.

Just enough for my monthly expenses ,,????

I tried to start a transfer this morning. Same way I have for years, but something kooky today.

when I entered the amount I want to transfer from my borderless account (or whatever it's called now)

I box with red letters comes up and says they can't transfer more than 28,000 USD now.

Ok....but my transfer is way less than that!!

Maybe just wait until later...won't arrive until Monday pm anyway.

Anyone run into this block besides me??

I transferred some money yesterday morning(Friday) from the UK to my TMB, now called TTB bank, just get the usual message cannot transfer mote than 50, 000 baht, unless to Bangkok bank or Krung Thai etc, the  transfer took 6 seconds to get to Thai bank.

Sorry, this weekend we can only accept transfers from customers sending a maximum of 28 000 THB. To send more, please return on Monday 3 October.

That makes more sense as Baht rather than 28k Pounds or Dollars.  Trying to limit speculation as Baht just went below 38/$ so expect many trying to take advantage of best exchange rate in years which may go down Monday with PM just being allowed to return to office?

This half explains my transfer problem of yesterday, Wise to Bangkok Bank, started with statement of "will take seconds", as soon as I pressed the confirm button jumped to 5 hours, half an hour later e-mail received saying cannot complete transfer until Monday.

Guys,

its not 28.000 GBP it’s 28.000 THB

Look here

We know that now. The early morning warning said

28000 GBP. They obviously amended that to THB.

Read it again ... it says they can only accept transfers up to £28,000

Tried to transfer 1000GBP (40kbht) to Thailand after reading the OP this morning ............ doesn't work. The confirm button is 'greyed' out.

(and the pink warning originally stated 28kGBP, now changed to 28kbht)

Tried again 500GBP (21kbht) .......... button works, no pink warning.

So looks like they're limiting their exposure to wild currency swings.

Like I said earlier, bet it'll be back to normal on Monday when they aren't risking the W/E '3 day' exposure.

GBP is too volatile right now and it's the weekend, I imagine WISE doesn't want anyone making Sterling transfers that may come back and bite them on Monday when markets open.

But it says a max of 28K THB (not USD)

Which in a way sounds more plausible and alarming!

How many would be affected by 28k USD and the like?
They seem to have serious deficits with their web editing.

The anonymous website showed the 28k foreign currency warning this morning.

NOW CORRECTED

Quick and dirty, English only where it was German before.

I don't recall seeing the message when I transferred GBP620 this morning.  Now the following message comes up on the quote page.

"Sorry, this weekend we can only accept transfers from customers sending a maximum of 28 000 THB. To send more, please return on Monday 3 October."

Not really sure why you’re telling me that; I have no wish to make any transfer at the present time, and was simply pointing out that the OP had misread the warning notification.
