Health Insurance

Featured Replies

Can anyone clear this up for me. Are these statements true?

1) Health insurance is required if you have a retirement visa but not if you have a marriage visa.

2) If you have a retirement visa and 800,000 baht in the bank untouched this works in lieu of health insurance.

Thanks

1. Health insurance is only required if you entered the country with Non-OA visa and extended it for retirement.

If you used a Non-o visa for entry and have extended it insurance is not required.

2, No

This will sound pedantic but it's not.

No such thing as retirement visa and marriage visa etc.

You are asking about annual  extensions to the following.

Non O based on marriage and retirement there is no insurance requirements for extensions.

An extension from a non O-A based on marriage there is no requirement for insurance.

An extension from a non O-A based on retirement requires insurance.

The 800,000 in the bank is a separate requirement from the insurance requirement.

Thanks. And thanks for the clear definitions (not pedantry).
