The two organizations have set a target for a list of drug users and sellers nationwide to be produced by October’s end.

What is this?   Why not to be produced by today?  or last month?  or yesterday?  or next week?   and were they NOT on a list last month, before the killings?

It's a step forward, but I'm not sure how many steps were taking back before this amazing announcement.

go get them!!!!!!  hopefully before Oct. 31 .

Blah, blah, blah. In a couple of weeks this will all quietly be forgotten…..just like every other crackdown that I have heard  announced over the last 15 years. Everyone knows it’s so.

Exactly! Live here long enough and you get immune to any official crack-down statements.

Just smile and go on with your day like all the Thais do. Think too much about statements like this and you will go insane.

Perhaps it is about time the ministry of public health and the ministry of the interior had a chat about what other mild drugs could be taken off the dangerous drugs list and what laws could be adjusted to lower the number of custodial sentences.

A war against drugs implies extra judicial killings and innocent lives lost.

Unfortunately Thailand's drugs / pills are just recycled through the system on a continuous loop. it will take some time for that link to do be withdrawn.

America started a war on drugs 30 years ago and now there's more drugs available then ever.

Meanwhile, the national police chief said a large number of drug users have not been entered into rehab. A number of these individuals have gone on to develop mental conditions and have attacked people.

This statement came from the National Police Chief

He obviously is capable of reading the News or watching it on TV, but little else

I would have had some respect for the Man had he made a statement that the Drug Suppression activities would start today, and at the Police Stations all over the Country

And then promptly mailed to Santa Claus to identify those who have been naughty....no Christmas gifts if on the list.
