List of Nights When Bars/Clubs Are Closed?

Featured Replies

I can search the internet and get a list of Thailand holidays.

But, there are sudden holidays and holidays when bars/clubs can open.

Is there any web site that maintains a list of nights when bars/clubs must close?

For example, Monday night, October 10, 2022, I went to LK Metro and every place was dark.  No lights, no music, no people, no motorcycles, no cars, etc.

I like to be forewarned.

Thanks in advance.

An example where "holiday" calendar fails.

It was not a public holiday but an important Buddhist holiday.

On major Buddhist holidays there is always an alcohol ban/entertainment closed.

When trying to find a reliable source in English just about these I failed

The forum here will give an advance warning usually a few days before (like for Oct 10th).

It wouldn't be appropriate to link to the red light sites that have such lists.

Just search for "thailand bar closures 2022".

Ask the bar owners directly.

Surely they know.

Great opportunity for a nice chat ????

In general, that is obviously a good idea.

But sometimes the police allow bars to open and/or serve alcohol even when that is officially not allowed. And those decisions are sometimes made only a day before that relevant date.

And then there are different rules and decisions for different police districts. Nana, Soi C, Patpong are all different districts.

For the Buddhist holidays I doubt that there is freedom of choice since the military rule. Mr. P. introduced the strict rule for those holidays.

All else is closed shutter/lights out/code-word at the flap for the bars that are desperate enough.

Some Day like Mother's or Father's day are not 'dry' days but some bars (usually with lady drinks and barfines) close out of respect. Actual bars and restaurant remain open in those case

According to this News broadcast its a publc holiday for memorial to the late King there is NOT  an alchohol ban.....go listen here......

It is only ever religious (Buddhist) holidays and election days, and we don't get many of the latter.
