Daily News Thai Caption: Belief it will bring luck

 

Daily News reported on an astonishing discovery by local workers on the Rayong River while they were cleaning steps by a famous temple ready for Loy Krathong next month.

 

Sombat, 52, spraying the riverbank reeled in amazement as the head of a cement Phayanak, King of the Nagas (snakes) emerged.

 

It was topped with gold too.

 

What with their being heavy rain at the time it created a surreal scene that everyone agreed was indeed a miracle.

 

Brought on by the bountiful blessings of Luang Poo Thim who resides in the adjacent temple of Wat Lahan Rai. 

 

The naga head is in remarkably good condition and everyone is waiting on a special ceremony to enable its removing and housing in the temple. 

 

For now the locals armed with flowers and joss-sticks have started arriving in numbers due to the auspicious find.

 

They will be divining numbers as there is always another state lottery just around the corner.

A beautiful find. Maybe not so lucky for lottery fiend’s but will be nice to see it preserved and brought back to the temple for safe keeping.

The photo seems to indicate that the highest part of Naga is above water level .

Fake news ?

When the falangs find dinosaurs, same stuff.... "Fake????!!!?!?!?" spreads online.   So now the falang thinks everything here is fake.  lol

 

Many countries have found artifacts in other countries, stole them, took them home to put them in a museum.......robbing the culture of others.

 

Let these Thais enjoy this find, Mr. Falang!!!!!!    Let me enjoy a glimpse of their past.
