I'm more confused by the statement " the problems arising from liberal marijuana use"

In the 5 months since marijuana was liberalized the sky hasn't fallen in on Thai society and its appears to be exactly the same as before.

Money and policitcal games same when the PTP turned on cannabis because it made someone popular. Cant have policies that are popular from other parties.

Add to that the high chance that brewers have bought people off and then we get this.

200new ganja places in Pattata.

Combine with legalised abortion.

Los is going to get a new reputation...

You have to appreciate Prayut's honesty.

Other world leaders pretend they give a  hoot about their citizens, and a few might actually care.

Prayut has no pretense. He couldn't care less about anyone who doesn't fill his coffers. Boon Rawd and Thai Bev likely keep him in silk, so he does their bidding, the people be damned.

Cannabis is helping refill the coffers of the property class. All of the ma&pa shops, Family Marts, etc., shut down because of Covid are now Cannabis Dispensaries.

From 100 meters down Soi 4 to a similar distance down Soi 8 in BKK, there are now 10 shops selling weed. That's 10 recently empty properties now pulling in rent again.

Totally out of touch with the rest of the world.

Their issue is nothing to with concerns about uncontrolled product, it's to protect the interests of their supporters at Boon Rawd and ThaiBev.

Monopolies supported by the government detest competition.

Of course this current administration would try and block this bill. They serve their donors and do not want to rock the boat...meanwhile stimming the potential competition and giving the people an opportunity to expand small businesses as well as the opportunity to taste something good for a change.

This ruling by the Thai Government comes as no surprise to many, but is very sad for the Nation.  What they are implying is that because of their incompetance they are unable to regulate the brewing of beer, the Government is worried that some Craft Beers could make people ill due to this lack of regulation.  This reflects very badly on the Governments ability to regulate issues and as many others have said, leaves considerable doubt in many people's minds, why they have refused to allow Craft Beer Brewing.  The Public should be allowed choices, but sadly are so, so suppressed they dare not raise what would be constructive objection against this rule, thereby expanding the choices of this industry.

Could it be that the 2 beer producers are handing out enormous 'contributions' to secure their monopolies? One would be tempted to think so.

No. Never. That's unthinkable. What, here in Thailand?????

Yeah right! Can’t believe after all these years Thailand has not got its act together with producing different quality beers. It’s got the talent and knowhow of course but is continually trumped by the big brewers and corruption.

Follow the money

Another action by this government that allows corruption and brown envelopes to be passed to these officials disgusting and it’s done in plain sight TIT

That's because unlike western democratically elected governments whose PM's and MP's are well educated and have the brains to cover up their corruption, the unelected military government here in Thailand do not.

Why would a legal brewery with all the correct controls and a licence be illegal and  dangerous ?
what does craft beer have to do with Marijuana and the loss of control. ?
who allowed the production and sale of marijuana in the first place ????( laugh emoji).
why is prostitution everywhere and yet craft beer illegal ?
why don’t the government travel to first world countries and see how normal trade is done , and how normal people live ?
