Samed police in Muang Chonburi were called after a woman at a coin-op launderette fought back against a man who was apparently trying to steal from her shop.

It was caught on CCTV.

A man arrived around 5.30 pm yesterday on a motorcycle. He was wearing shorts and a black top and was looking about himself waiting for the coast to be clear.

He suddenly attacked 41 year old Chonthicha by grabbing her neck in his left hand while holding a knife in his right, reported Siam Rath.

But she fought back and received stab wounds to her neck, head and back as well as her arm.

She was taken to Chonburi Hospital.

Her father Wanchai, 66, said he was not aware of any connection between the man and his daughter.

He said it was good that his daughter had managed to keep her composure and call after the attack to get help.

Police said that it appeared that robbery was the motive and when the lady fought back the assailant fled.

Investigations continue.

This is very concerning, we have had a few 'crazed'  type attacks and robbery attempts in the last few weeks. Is it people under the influence of modern day drugs?

Easily found cheap drugs and a mental unbalance .. seems many in Thailand are this way now.
