A WOMAN filed a complaint against a well-known garage in Sattahip district of Chonburi province that failed to complete repairing her sedan in over seven months and upon checking found that many parts are missing, Sanook.com said Wednesday evening (Nov. 2).

Ms. Dares (surname withheld), 35, said she gave her white Toyota sedan to be repaired at this district’s leading garage located at kilometre six last April.

The garage owner said he would have to send a part of the engine for repair in Bangkok but after over seven months she could no longer contact the mechanic by phone.

Good pointing though I would have rathered her point at the garage owner!

The sign out front would have worked in most any other country. Screwing the peasants is part of the no defaming law even if its true; probably that is. Weasel words are important you know.

She would have been well advised to take her car to a reputable auto repair business rather than a garage. I have had some remarkably good work done by specialist auto repairers in Thailand.

Hard to know which are, also if a repair is an insurance claim, you don't get much choice.

I used a branch of a national company for a 10,000 kms service.  The 'engineer' told me the rubber hoses needed renewing.  I paid up and returned home with the defective parts in the boot.  Home Inspection revealed no problem with the originals. Only by naming and shaming will scams be eradicated; that is why police receive protection money.

Maybe some items have to be replaced at set service intervals, even if not defective. Preventitive maintenance?

Had you recently bought a new battery it would have been likely they swapped that for you too!

In Thailand?  They wait till the exhaust falls off on the road then still do nothing.  They couldn't service a garden gate.

must agree preventive maintenance and Thailand shouldn't be used in the same sentence..

Sounds like the same place that wanted to change the drive shafts on mine.
