Popular Post webfact Posted November 8, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 8, 2022 Picture: Sanook Thai netizens were commenting in droves after a foreigner had an unusual request for a tattoo. The "Venezuelan" - according to a post that went viral on Titinan Jantankpol who runs the Door Dang shop - apparently wanted the message as a keepsake to remember Thailand. It read: Pokati Phu Tai Pen Khon Chorp Hee The last word is a vulgar word omitted from the Sanook report - and many others - that means a woman's sexual organ. The whole sentence might mean: Usually the dead person likes..... Netizens were having a field day wondering if the recipient knew the meaning. While many didn't really have a clue if there was a deeper meaning. Google translate - notoriously inaccurate - translates it as "Normally the deceased is a sucker". Sanook chose to focus on the comments of people; many were women who wanted the camera to pan right to get a better view of the recipient's "package". The images were shared 1,800 times in 24 hours according to an online post. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-11-08 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Not upset in the least. Laughing and incredulous at the idiocy. And they gave him benefit of doubt, which they couldn't a Thai. Enough with the paranoia and imagined victimization. 6 1 4 3

Popular Post Hanaguma Posted November 8, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 8, 2022 I guess it is still a fad to get Japanese or Chinese Kanji tattoos done these days. Not a fan myself, too easy to make some hilariously stupid errors. Saw a guy who had a weird tattoo so I asked him, "what does it mean". He said "I think it is 'samurai', but some people laugh when they see it". Actually, it meant "hemmorhoid"- the symbols for hemmorhoid and samurai are similar, and he had a foreign tattoo artist do his tat. 1 7

Popular Post T0nD0n Posted November 8, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 8, 2022 Not only tattoos lead to funny situations. Saw a Japanese girl with absolutely small breasts wearing a T-shirt with the text: " Gorgeous Mountains". But then a T- shirt is easier to take off than a tattoo. 2 1 1
malt25 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 My first thought when reading this was "Google translate - notoriously inaccurate". I agree this was true some time back, but find the Google translation very handy & accurate these days. Am I missing something ? 1

I agree this was true some time back, but find the Google translation very handy & accurate these days. Am I missing something ? It depends on what you're trying to translate. Single words are OK. Short phrases can be accurate, but the longer the phrase the more incomprehensible. The biggest reason is that Google does not hear and translate the tones in Asian languages which contribute to the meaning of words. It also has a hard time with syntax, which is often reversed or absent completely. 1

I once saw a young Thai girl, too young to understand, on a SkyTrain in BKK wearing a t shirt that read "if God hadn't wanted me to have sex why did he give me a huge cock" I was embarrassed for her but how could I tell her. 1 4

Popular Post allanos Posted November 8, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 8, 2022 Stop me if you've heard this one: Two girls had been dating the same guy and were comparing notes. The first one says, "you know, I discovered he's got 'LUDO' tattoo'd on his cock". The second, more sexy girl says, "don't be silly, it says 'LLANDUDNO'! " 3

Yes, the Chinese characters, especially in combination can be interpreted different ways. Going to study in Shanghai in the summer of 1986, Chinese friends wrote out the characters. Then he said, he thought of slightly different, more polite characters. The first characters could be seen as, "Powerful Mandarin from the West". Yea, right ... ha! Over the top. 1
