I think you are confusing 'fact-checking' with fact-hiding, as evidenced by the banning of the NY Times when they factually reported on the Hunter Biden laptop as this could have had an impact on who they wanted to win the last election in the US.

Adding to Twitter’s troubles, Musk’s bright idea to sell ‘blue verification logos’ has gone in precisely the direction it was warned it would go.   Twitter has been inundated with ‘verified’

Personally I'd like to incinerate every "social media" site on the internet.

Me too but we have to live with them so we may as well force some civility.

Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk is further gutting the teams that battle misinformation on the social media platform as outsourced moderators learned over the weekend they were out of a job.

Twitter and other big social media firms have relied heavily on contractors to track hate and enforce rules against harmful content.

Twitter did allow hate speech, as long as it was directed at people who didn't vote the correct way.

Examples, with sources please.

The difference between free speech and the liable law.

'I don't agree with what you say but agree you should be allowed to say it'. Is that civil? What do you mean by '...force...'?

Trump and his allies say there is evidence of corruption in emails and documents allegedly found on a laptop belonging to Democrat Joe Biden’s son. They say those and other documents show that Hunter Biden used his father’s influence to enrich himself through business deals in Ukraine and China, and that his father not only facilitated that, but may have benefited financially.

No mention of credible sources.  In NYC's Chinatown there is a chicken that tells fortunes that has more cred. "They say," and the they is the people who said Covid is a hoax, the 1/6 riot was just well-behaved tourists, trusting Putin over US intelligence sources (is it treason yet?), just a taste of the four years of utter nonsense of a self-serving occupant of the Oval Office.

Rudy Giuliani, who has met with Russian agents in his effort to dig dirt on the Bidens.

Brings the old collusion word back into play.

A president who had his finger on the scale every moment of his adult life term, but the focus is on the other party.

More like impose a biased viewpoint. Only the "correct" opinions permitted.

Would you support a ban on hate speech or not?

I heard something interesting on radio. Apparently the staff got free meals which was costing the company millions per year. Musk has stopped that.

Perhaps he's not as dumb as I thought.

If he can make the company work with 70% less staff, it will be proof they were un necessary.

Musk said it was costing that much. The person responsible for the program has contradicted musk's statement.

Elon Musk Fires Twitter Employees Who Publicly and Privately Challenged Him: ‘This Man Has No Idea <deleted> He’s Talking About’

The new Twitter boss, who touts unfettered speech on the social platform, apologized for ”firing these geniuses“ on Tuesday

“Free speech” apparently only goes so far inside Twitter.

New owner Elon Musk has reportedly fired several employees for criticizing his leadership publicly on Twitter and privately in internal Slack channels.

And then, probably, she (Tracy Hawkins) was immediately fired. Unless she agreed to be his Twitter Brood Mare.

Honestly, he wants people to work 120 hours a week, of course you're going to offer free food, snacks, rest areas, etc., and anything to keep them happy.

How dumb did you think he was?

The AseanNow crowd roasted him on the Thai Cave Rescue submarine fiasco, and his "Pedo Guy" comment. Now many of the same seem to revere this schmuck.

Perhaps not as much as Musk said, but I never got free meals from any job I did, so if he wants to cut the free meals, he has every right to do so.

Given his cave rescue "submarines" which couldn't go through the tunnels, pretty much.

And he is every right to slash pay too. What's your point? This isn't about legality.

Nothing wrong with giving remaining staff a days notice to decide their future, no of course not.
