It`s signposted Ban Tun, and in a village so you won`t miss it. And if you do miss it, just continiue and turn back after some 10 km of very nice road which suddenly turns into dirt. You can continiue on that dirt road too, maybe 2 km of dirt and thru a village and out on 1270, BUT this route (after it turns into dirtroad) is not nice either scenerywise or pavementwise, 1270 have zillions of potholes.

Here you turn right if you like well paved looparound roads.

Ps. I just spent one week in that corner of mhs loop, driving 300-500 km per day????

Google maps has only one Ban Tun and its a long way away ????

Haha yes trusting google maps in rural thailand can be risky…

Go for Ban Pa Pae = just follow the main road until 3010 T-junction where you turn right. If turn left soon you are out on the crappy 1270.

Below 3010.

Another great ride with stunning views today. I was told about this route (thanks Pooreye) and decided I must ride it as I had ridden the beginning and the end parts before and missed the turn that completes loop.

Anyone who rides to see views and likes twisty mountain roads will like this ride. No off road on the actual loop, but plenty in the area for sure.

My route north from Mae Sariang on route R108 turning east on R1266. 18.376711,97.942312 then here and onto 18.277718, 98.061433. Then Mae Sariang. If you put these in Google maps it will show the route.

Ouch

BTW according to Honda parts list both tubes on your bike are the same size. Unless you have changed something. 80/90-17

So Chris,

was it tube failure,

or tire explosion.?

It was a a nail that caused the tube to immediately deflate like a bomb.
