How many words are there for the word wife? I only ever used Mia.

But what if you have a good wife or a wife from a good background, is there another word there?

What about a loving wife, what's the word for that?

She may not like Mia Luang.

 

 

I guess is suggests the existence of a Mia Noi.

I am being told by a very well educated thai friend that the word I want is "Sri-pan-ra-ya" which means good wife.

I would have thought ภรรยาที่ดี (pan-ra-ya tii dee) would translate to good wife.

 

I suppose it means what exactly you mean by good, though.

ศรี (sri) is a prefix that can be used as praise of excellence or along those lines.

Thanks. I've never encountered it before. I assume the ร is not pronounced?
