Channel 8 had a three minute video of a large crocodile in a ditch in a southern Thai village.

Krai Thong rescue were called in the late morning to tackle the creature that was four meters in length and could have weighed up to 400 kilos.

The media said it was a salt water croc and had entered the area via a tributary.

The drama happened in the village of Ban Sri Thong, in Khanthulee sub-district of Tha Chana distrcit, Surat Thani during rains.

They advised people to be careful especially in the (southern) rainy season and always to call the experts if they see such a creature.

They expected more stories like this.

Thai Rath also picked up on the story with still shots of the event.
