Why would the big dogs involvement change anything at all? This was always about the RTP not being compensated and not being partners with the Chinese triads. Will the chief be the top negotiator with the triads now? It appears that way. 

 

So, it is likely the only way the Chinese will be charged, is if they do not agree with the RTP mafia partnership terms.

I think the RTP don't call him Big Joke. I would guess they refer to him as No Joke. From my read of the article, Big Joke is not doing anything wrong; he's doing things too darn right. This is why he gets marginalized on important cases when it seems like he is on the brink of a major revelation.

Of course the responsibility to handle this case must be taken up to the top, totally predictable. They have to find a way to clean out the Chinese guys without shooting their own feet. That can not be managed as bottom-up investigatione as need to ensure that exposure of involved senior officials is managed  properly.

 

End result will be that the Chinese lords' power at least substantially decreased if not removed, an Thai replacement lords back in place to run the biz. Money continues to flow, and many 'misunderstandings' and 'no evidence of corruption' found. Few people removed, none on high level. Life goes on, TIT.

 

They will probably learn the lesson not to let Chinese to run the biz, easier to manage the local guys.
