According to a Facebook post from the Pattaya Mayor, the New Year celebration will include national-level fireworks displays but only on December 31st in Pattaya and Koh Larn. The fireworks will be prohibited only from December 29th to 30th as per the previous announcement. Apart from this, the authorities said the countdown event in Pattaya will feature concerts and other activities such as shopping and eating as usual. Popular Post champers Posted December 26, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 26, 2022 Good news. I wonder if people cancelling hotel bookings caused the change of heart. 3 3

Just had a look at booking.com (29 to 4). Not seen that many booked places in central Pattaya in a long time. At one of places I was with about 5 guests during high Covid times 3

Only elected governor is in Bangkok, so no relation to Pattaya. Governors are hire and fire by interior ministry which is under supervision of the PM. And highest authority is someone else than PM.

Do you know much about how Thailands Governors are put in place? I think not. Bangkoks Governor is the only one who is elected by the people, and that's because it is its own administrative entity. The other provincial Governors are put in place by the Government. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/5-decades-of-governor-elections-that-have-shaped-modern-bangkok/
Skeptic7 Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 One hand "Flip" meet other hand "Flop". You're to be closest of BFFs. Only stipulation is that neither is EVER privy to what other is doing. ????

The cannabis situation another example... it also happened frequently wrt covid procedures. I really don't care whether the fireworks go ahead or not, it is wrong that people who make plans are getting messed about from pillar to post.... They have iron balls until someone else pipes up! 2 1
