Popular Post JackGats Posted January 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2023 There we go again. I was planning a 4-night visit to Angkor day after tomorrow. I am cancelling, as it is not certain I will be allowed back into Thailand. 1 3

Popular Post ikke1959 Posted January 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2023 China can make rules and restrictions but if other countries do it to the Chinese there will be measures... double standards... and Thailand goes mad again with proof of vaccines and health insurances and will complain if there are less tourists... But happily the Chinese are here 1 1 1 1
Popular Post rabang Posted January 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2023 Restrictions do not attract people, even if they can comply with them. I will stay away for now. Thank you Thailand for making my decision easier as I won't play with your silly rules. 6 2 1

Visitors should postpone their visits to Thailand if they develop a respiratory disease. Must - sounds like a regulation. Should - sounds like a recommendation. It would be interesting to know whether the original Thai language version makes the same distinction.

IMO they are ineffectieve. They were quickly put together by big Pharma serving them as cashcows. I'm sorry I am not sponsoring any longer big Pharma for their placebo's. This said their requirement is absolutely useless. You do know how vaccines work ? Anyway , there is no telling in a specific case that the vaccine is working and how good it is working. Also , with all the variants around , that is another factor. You can imagine to have been a lot worse without the vaccine, but would you imagine to have less sick without the vaccination . I had covid also , 1.5-2 days of very mild illness , wouldn't even have known it without self test (actually was thinking of a rough hangover for most of the 1st day). When i was in Thailand , i am pretty sure the GF adn some other family members did get it , untested , but i had 0.0 , not even tired . 1
biervoormij Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Is Sputnik V an approved vaccine in Thailand? Will this change in policy have an impact on the number of Russian tourist entering the country?

There will be a lot of people in your situation sitting in their offices across Europe who are going to be blissfully unaware of this, people who decided not to take a vaccine and then looked down a list of countries where it's not required before booking their flights and Thailand was on the list. If it's introduced as a regulation which is highly debatable then they have a very good chance of ruining their high season. 4

Been away from this forum for a few years and surprised by how many people still falling for this BS. Aint China been locked down and vaccinated for three years - shouldn't that mean covid has been beaten… oh wait . China's issue is that they have a low rate of vaccination, hence the hospitals are full right now and the virus is exploding. I guess oyu're still alive because you're vaccinated?

ozimoron Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Just now, BayArea said: restrictions were the wrong usage. Requirements would have been a better choice Well, I still think the answer is that there is one requirement, get a vaccine and prove it. Actually I'm confused as to which of two reports is correct. I don't know if they are requiring a vaccine or not. 2
Scott Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Numerous off-topic posts and replies have been remove, some for posting false or misleading information others for trolling. This is the final warning. Continue to post unsubstantiated claims without a link to a credible source and you will face a suspension. The topic is about proof of vaccination for all arriving in Thailand. 1
London Lowf Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 I was in Thailand from October last year until a couple of weeks ago - no Covid restrictions but I carried two paper copies of my vaccination certificate anyway - things can change fast! 1

They certainly do and it can change for any country. I guess the point here is they are obviously doing it for China LOL. Why did the goal posts change? Oh yeah, it's Thailand. And they've done it repeatedly over and over again. If anyone is surprised that's on them. ;D Sucks for people who have already booked travel. 1
Senior Player Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 My friend told me about this new rule possibly coming into effect a week ago as he's travelling out to Thailand this week. I'm still unclear on the 2 jab rule. I've had 2 vaccinations but haven't updated my NHS wallet on my iPhone in over a year because I haven't needed to. Does a simple previous digital record of the 2 jabs still count? Not sure what they're asking for here.
Popular Post habuspasha Posted January 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2023 I don't understand why so many posters are trying to get by with the least protection. I had my 5th Moderna in September before my Oct visit and am planning on getting a 6th before my next visit at end of this month. Shots are said to be full strenth effective for 2-5 months. Why not take advantage of what is available? I'm 81, but I would do it if I were 20 years younger. 2 4
Popular Post ozz1 Posted January 5, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2023 What they fail to understand is that being vaccinated doesn't stop covid or the spread it eases the symptoms it will effect the tourists numbers why not do what everyone else is doing and provide a negative test I guess they are trying to appease their masters without upsetting them 3 1

I am also not convinced continous vaccinations are all that necessary and even good for me in the long run. I am not antivax but I have my doubts about many things pharma companies say and do. Like always YMMV. 8 2
