January 8, 20233 yr Popular Post It was bound to happen sooner rather than later. One wonders if there are not cancelations being made by tourists. I know of one person who instead will just go to Singapore from the US then Brazil. She will pay to have her Muay Thai trainer fly and stay in singapore to train. She is unvaccinated.

Definitely going to hurt. Hopefully it hurts the Chinese and Russian sector most.
January 8, 20233 yr Popular Post No loss, actually, regarding those who feed on anger and complaining. Finding a boogieman at every corner.
January 8, 20233 yr It's ok knowing this mob they will probably change their minds in a couple of weeks
January 8, 20233 yr Popular Post Entry requirements were compromised for the Chinese. There was no need to include everyone else, except the Chinese in the new entry requirements. Lots of people who don't qualify for the new entry requirements have already paid for their trip to Thailand and haven't arrived yet. So now they will have to cancel. 2 shots doesn't mean a person doesn't have covid now. It would have been simplier to just require a negative covid test 72 hours before departure for everyone or just the Chinese like most other countries.

January 8, 20233 yr I hope there will be some more info about positive test on arrival asap, I doubt people want to play russian roulette with their holidays.
January 8, 20233 yr Popular Post Members on chat groups I'm on are ready to cancel or not book to come. Some just can't stand the idea of masks or any paperwork - shame for them. Let's see how many Chinese actually travel.
January 8, 20233 yr I bet this will hurt nothing. There is no date requirement on the vaccines. Over 85% of Chinese have been vaccinated with Sinovac or similar China vaccines. Most of these were probably well over a year ago maybe 2 years, but they can still come here no problem. The airlines are responsible for all this prior to boarding there apparently will not be Thai authorities at the airport here checking anything. The whole scenario sounds very loose to me, I doubt very few will cancel at all.

Yes according to the latest point 5 of the restrictions: 5. The airlines must check the documents as required. If passenger fails to produce document proving these requirements are met, the passenger is subjected to be tested at the port of arrival. Richard Barrow is pretty good at updating these types of things, might be worth checking now and then if more than just curious, chances are he'll be one of the first fairly reliable sources to publish:

So this must mean on arriving in Thailand the authorities will be checking documentation, for vacccinations?

Another thing they haven't clarified 555 Airline to check at departure airport but no mention of how/if they will forward details of passengers without vax/proof of recovery certs. Allegedly it will be random testing according to one of the agents on here:

The goal posts have moved again. ???? They are getting quicker and quicker at it too LOL. I"m vaccinated and any country that requires testing when I arrive I wouldn't travel to. Particularly Thailand. What will they do if you are positive? God only knows. Maybe you will be going to a hospital to stare at the wall and your insurance won't cover it. NO THANKS.
January 8, 20233 yr 3 minutes ago, Salerno said: Allegedly it will be random testing according to one of the agents on here: Pretty sure that's what will happen and then quietly dropped altogether. The Thai version of the instructions seems much more like "may be tested" than "will be tested".

I can't imagine what the airlines think of this ever changing clown show?

January 8, 20233 yr What happens if one or 2 passengers are positive on arrival do they quarantine all passengers on the same flight??

Stumbled over an old article, yesterday I think it was, about British Airways delaying restarting flights to Bangkok until March this year and rerouting to Singapore instead. They where due to restart last October. Bet they're having a little chuckle to themselves with this fiasco going on.
January 8, 20233 yr Just now, whiteman said: What happens if one or 2 passengers are positive on arrival do they quarantine all passengers on the same flight?? Right, there is no mention of what happens? Its hard to comprehend that the Thai authorities have cobbled all this mess together, just to make sure they don't annoy China? Thailand must think its worth it, I bet the airlines don't?????
January 8, 20233 yr 3 minutes ago, whiteman said: What happens if one or 2 passengers are positive on arrival do they quarantine all passengers on the same flight?? There's been no mention of quarantine and no specifics of what, if anything, will happen to someone with a positive test.

You'll find out when you get there LOL. Is it worth it to you? I've never seen such a backwards country with obscure rules that change continually and with little to no notice. And believe me, they don't give a toss if you like it or hate it.
January 8, 20233 yr Popular Post Every other country have implemented rules only affecting the Chinese apparently, Most are requiring a negative PCR test taken 2 days before traveling. Thailand in its 'wisdom' has decided to not discriminate and make everyone traveling be vaxed, giving 2 days notice, then in the last few minutes change their minds again? The saying 'couldn't organize a pis-s up in a brewery' springs to mind!
