Russia's main oil product is now trading way below the G7's $60 price cap, as the heavily sanctioned nation only has a handful of buyers to keep up its crude oil trade.

 

Urals grade, Russia's largest crude oil export, traded at its Baltic Sea port at just $37.80 a barrel on Friday, according to data from Argus Media.

 

In addition to lagging below the price cap, that's less than half the price of international benchmark Brent crude, which was trading at about $80 a barrel on Monday.

The price cap was imposed very recently. And even if it weren't, what percentage of Russians can afford to vacation in Phuket? So far, you've got nothing.

Not sure of the exact percentage but it is at least enough people to cram every inch of Rawai with them.

This is good news. Starve out the madman dictator. He deserves that. He earned that. Make him a pariah. Many ran away to escape the war. I recently got a surprise call from the daughter of long time Russian friend. She and her husband had initially escaped to Georgia, when their visa options there ran out they thought of Thailand though they had never been here. 

 

At the end of the call she deplored me to never believe anything that comes from the Russian state. I told her I know, I was there during the Cold War and I know her father well. Her parents are vehemently anti Putin and hated the Soviet system. Many Russians are but you would never know that from state propaganda. Putin has only improved on Soviet misinformation.

A lot of Ukrainians prefer Russia to Zalenski and the crooks that back him. This is why it's a strange war. Putin can't steamroller over the Ukraine without harming his own supporters. Western media totally refuse to mention this fact,

Sure. Funny or arrogant(?) that some posters think all 150 million Russians are dirt poor, have no savings.

And so far no one could tell what a package tour from Russia cost. You can bet that airfare is a fraction of prices from Europe or not to speak from the opposite side of the world (America).

Many Russians from Siberia which is closer than you might think.

Put on a per capita basis, the Soviet Union and more so Russia nearly disappear. The USSR had almost 300 million people. 

 

Even from Soviet days, the Russian economy is mostly a weapons factory funded by oil and resources with abysmal consumer production. That's why they are stealing washing machines.
